History

This car was built by the Canadian Car & Foundry company as part of lot 547 in 1923 at a cost of $24,333. It was renumbered to CN 73901 for use as a storage car at the Moncton Express Freight Shed. Along with 8605, it was delivered to Hillsborough in 1981, the first cars on the site. It was extensively refurbished in early 1983. Unfortunately it was destroyed in the 1994 fire.

It was 23.4m (76' 9.5") long, 4.3m (14' 1.5") high, and weighed 63.3 tonnes (69.6 tons).
